IRMRA’s New Acting Director
 

Dr.M.S.Banerji, present Director of IRMRA has retired from the services of the Institute after 30.9.2007.

In view of the above, Dr.S.K.Chakraborty has taken over as Acting Director of the Institute from 1.10.2007.

Dr.Chakraborty has done his Post Graduation in Science (M.Sc.) from Banaras Hindu University and Doctorate in Rubber/Polymer Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Similarly, he has done post doctorate course in ‘Thermoplastic Rubber, SEM Cryogrinding of Rubber’ from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

He has been conferred with the following rewards / recognitions from time to time:

  • Dunlop Award – 1982
  • Who’s Who in the World – 1997
  • International Biographic Centre – 1997

Similarly, he has published about 54 nos. of technical papers on Rubber Compounding, Testing, Product Development in national and international journals.

He is a member of following Institutes:

  • Technical Committee of BIS
  • Member of SAE – Western Region
  • Member of American Chemical Society - Rubber Division
  • PHD guide for Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala.
He has rich working experiences at very senior positions in Synthetics & Chemical
  • J.K.Tyre Industries Ltd., Kankroli and now in IRMRA.

He is also a professional trainer in rubber technology and has trained more than 250 persons in Rubber & Allied Industries.
