Name : P. K. Das

Education : M.Tech. (Rubber) Technology - IIT Kharagpur

Designation : Dy. Director & Public Information Officer

Date of Joining in IRMRA : 25.11.1995


	Brief Summary :

He has completed M.Tech in rubber technology from IIT Kharagpur in the year 1993. He did M.Tech project work on "Studies on the effect of dry bonding system on adhesion between rubbers and organic/inorganic fibres "at Andrew Yule & Company Limited., kalyani. After post graduation he joined Shreejee Rubber, Dombivili, Thane and worked on the development of rubber covered rolls.

During his short tenure with United Rubber, Mumbai he worked on the development of rubber products for automobiles like radiator hose, mounts, bushes etc. Then, he joined IRMRA in the month of November 1995.

At IRMRA he was in-charge of Thermal Lab, for more than two years and worked extensively on various thermal & analytical techniques for Characterization of rubber compounds. Then he went to France and Germany for training on operation and application of Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) and Brabender Plasticoder in polymer characterization respectively. Currently he is in charge of DMA and Brabender. He has delivered several lectures on various topics in various training programmes conducted by IRMRA.

He is project leader of sponsored research projects form BARC, Mumbai & DMDE, Hydrabad, which are under execution at IRMRA. He is specialized in the area of storage and service life prediction of rubber products.

During his professional period with IRMRA he has published few technical papers jointly with IIT Kharaghpur in international journals and national journals.
